Final Blog!
http://prezi.com/nq4no7qcwjxk/popular-culture-and-peer-based-learning/
So it's almost finals time and everyone is trying to finish everything school wise on a good note. During these last few weeks, students are trying to cram as much studying as possible. Most of students' studying is done in peers; comparing notes and ideas. My project focuses on popular culture and peer based learning. For my revision I decided to go back to my second mini project and elaborate more on how both work and what studies show from the results of using these techniques to learn.

Mini Project 3
This week for my project I created a fakebook! :) I used Mimi Ito's HOMAGO and guest lectures from YouTube to post statuses. She talks about how learning together and also the use of technology can benefit anyone. Research has proved that an average students retention rate is the greatest when they teach others. Peer-based learning is the most efficient way of learning material because you're helping others while helping yourself so everyone wins.Have a great week!

Mini Project 2
http://prezi.com/nq4no7qcwjxk/popular-culture-and-peer-based-learning/
This week I decided to make a Prezi. It's my very first one ever but I got the hang of it closer to the end of making it using animations and all that other stuff. I went into depth with popular culture and peer based learning. I think my topic can go in many different directions as far as popular culture but I used a few classmates as well as the interner sources to ask what comes to mind when "popular culture" and "peer based learning" and included it in my presentation. Have a good week :)

Forestview Students
This week has probably been an okay week. It started off rough because I was reaaaally sick because of seasonal changes but I started to feel better closer to the end of the week. I really don't like when it's warm outside one day and the next day it's dropped to almost freezing. >:[ Anyways, on to better things. This week we finally got to meet with Forestview students which was probably one of my favorite classes this semester in English because I love interacting with others especially since I can definitely relate to how they may feel starting college and all the thoughts going through their head. One thing I value the most about college is the responsibility that comes along with all the freedom. I love being on my own and I think I'm doing a good job at balancing everything out. It allows me to get my priorities straight and focus only on me. College makes you mature about the decisions you make because you're dealing with different people from who may be different to you and most importantly teaches you the importance of time management.

What is Success?
Is there one way to go about success? Do you have to do things in a certain way or order to reach it? Define success. Success is looked at differently amongst different people. Some people believe it is about how much money you make/have. Others believe its how many people they've helped. Success to me, can be big or small. I believe that you have to make short term goals to help you achieve your long term. So to say I think that is the same way with success. You don't just wake up one morning and find yourself successful until you have achieved the short term goals. Within these short term goals, there are always obstacles. For the example above that we've used in class it says 'Take the SAT' followed by 'College Admission.' Who's to say you get admitted to the college you want to go to? What if taking the SAT isn't required at the college of your choice? What if college isn't what you WANT to do? Does that mean you don't qualify for being successful? Certainly not! I look up to plenty people, including family members who I find successful who didn't even finish high school! I believe there are different definitions of success depending on the person and I also believe that there isn't just one way to be successful but plenty and that you have to fall down a few times maybe to even reach your desired goal and maybe have to change your path to get to the bigger picture. One last thing, when you reach your goal, I think, you still should aim higher and set even bigger goals because there is also no finish line to success.
Have a great week! :)
