Creating My Daybook!

I wasn't really sure what to expect in this class besides that we'll probably be doing a lot of writing assignments. But my first week I did very little writing. More work-shopping actually. On the second day of class we each brought a composition book to decorate with stuff that reflects who we are. I brought in stickers and pictures that interests me. My daybook cover expresses my interests. I love the color pink, style and music! I think decorating my cover is a smart and unique idea because it has all my interests on it which will contribute to helping have a good class.

  1. I also enjoyed getting to decorate my daybook. I spent a lot of time designing my daybook and deciding what I wanted it to look like. I did end up taking a lot of time to print out pictures and put construction paper scraps together to make it, but in the end I thought it was definitely worth it. I thought we did a lot of work-shopping too, but I also think there will be a ton of writing and/or daily writing to do in this class as well.

  2. I also agree with you about decorating the daybook. Having it decorated to show who we really are helps to express ourselves and in a class where it is already "abstract" this might be something useful. I also like how the class has a lot of independent thinking to it instead of strait busy work.

  3. I loved personalizing our daybooks also, so that way Lacy and the rest of the class can catch a glimpse of who we are. I think we will be able to express our thoughts and opinions a lot through out this course, which I think is great because normally in school we are told what to write about and what is expected of us which leaves no room for our own voice.
